FindLegal ("FindLegal") is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. FindLegal is an online marketplace and advertising platform that helps people describe a legal problem and connect with independent legal service providers.
- No attorney-client relationship with FindLegal. Using FindLegal does not create an attorney-client or other professional relationship between you and FindLegal. Any relationship you form is directly with the provider you choose.
- The assistant is not a lawyer. The intake assistant is automated software. It organizes the facts you give it and does not analyze your legal position, predict outcomes or tell you what to do.
- No privilege before you hire. Information you give FindLegal, or send to a provider before you hire them, is generally not protected by attorney-client privilege. Share only what is needed.
- Independent providers. Providers are independent professionals, not employees or agents of FindLegal. FindLegal does not endorse, recommend or guarantee any provider or the quality of their services. Providers state that their licenses are active and in good standing; FindLegal does not guarantee this. Confirm a provider's current standing with the licensing body before hiring.
- Non-attorney providers. Licensed paraprofessionals, legal document preparers and DOJ-accredited representatives are not attorneys and may help only within the limits their license, registration or accreditation allows.
- Advertising. Providers featured in our emails are paid advertising and are labeled. Provider profiles and quotes are statements by the provider, not by FindLegal. Past results do not guarantee a similar outcome.
- Not a referral service. FindLegal is not a lawyer referral service and does not receive any part of the fees you pay a provider.
- Emergencies. If you are in danger, call 911. If you have a court date or deadline within a few days, contact the court clerk or local legal aid immediately.
